1972 Plymouth Duster Mopar Muscle
A great piece of Mopar
Muscle, a Restored and Modified 1972 Plymouth Duster 440
Street/Strip/Show Car.
This Duster is built right, not only ready to drive, but ready
to drive fast, and it will put many bigger muscle cars to shame
with its performance. The Big Block 440 has TREMENDOUS power, it
takes off like a rocket and there's not much out there that can
keep up with it. Drive right by the Mustangs, ‘Cudas and
Roadrunners.
Less than 10K miles on Rebuilt Mopar Hi Performance Wedge 440
(9.5:1 compression), 292 Purple Comp Cam. Holley 750CFM 4BBL on
top of a Weiand Aluminum Intake, w/ Chrome Smoothie Valve
Covers. Ceramic Coated Hooker Headers (check out the pic),
Flowmaster Delta Flow 2.5" Dual Exhaust. 727 Torqueflight 3Speed
Auto w/ Shift Kit and 3500 Stall Speed Torque Converter. Finish
that off with a Narrowed Ford 9” Posi Rear-end w/ 3:73 Gears.
Power Steering, Front Disc Brakes, Electronic Ignition, Quick
Connect Battery and an Upgraded Cooling System that does not
overheat. Stowaway Battery Housing in the trunk. Odometer shows
10385 miles. Mechanically, this car needs virtually nothing.

It is sure to grab your attention from the moment you hear
it....
It doesn't just look awesome, it performs top notch and.....
It will set you back in your seat and put a big smile on your
face.
Take a look at the body. A vibrant high impact (Sunshine or
Canary or Banana???) Yellow with very small imperfections (found
one that was smaller than a dime) from being driven, nothing
serious. The yellow paint is in sharp contrast to the signature
side stripes and 440 Wedge emblems on the hood and body. The
hood is steel with fiberglass dual snorkel scoops and hood pins
so it won’t blow off. The Hood, Doors and trunk are all tight
and everything is nice and square. Both the chrome bumpers and
the trim are shiny and the grill is clean and straight. All of
the emblems, striping and decals are in great condition. All of
the glass as well. The frame and undercarriage are solid with
just the slightest surface rust showing (its a Driver). You can
eat off the detailed engine OR trunk compartments.

Cooper Cobra Radials for the ultimate high performance muscle
car look.
The interior is sharp and in near perfect condition. Reclining
Bucket Seats are very comfortable and in excellent condition,
they look unworn, with the rear seats in the same condition. The
dash is clean and the center console and shifter are in great
shape. All of the original gauges are intact w/ an AutoMeter
Tachometer. The door panels and armrests are in like new
condition, almost no wear at all. I am not sure if it is
original carpet and headliner, but they are in beautiful
condition, clean and consistent with the condition of the entire
interior, which is excellent. Pioneer AM/FM CD Player w/ Remote.
All of the gauges, signals, wipers and the lights are in proper
working order.
Being from California, I think it could use one of those Vintage
Air Conditioning units. The owner says it just needs “someone to
drive it and play with it”. Like I said, it does not need much.
To sum it up, this High Performance Mopar has been built to the
max, but streetable enough to be a daily driver. Everything
works and it’s very dependable. Not quite a show car, but it can
easily compete at any local show car level. Or you can just take
this car home and drive it and enjoy it as is. Highway, city
streets, strip or show.
.... a budget street racer. Provides smooth power delivery and
is capable of embarrassing drivers of other high performance
cars. Standard front disc brakes provide exceptional stopping
power and the torsion bar suspension is extremely rugged.
