It looks like a ’65.....But if you are looking for “Matching
Numbers” or “All Original” this IS NOT IT!!!
In 1965 Ford produced 680,989 Mustangs. Of those, only 15,079
came with the GT equipment option and the number gets much
smaller when you consider that this is a Fastback! And not one
of those had the beautiful Blue Fluorescent/Neon light Ground
Effects that this one has. This car would be numbered “1 of 1”.
There is a ton of info here, so please read all of the details,
ask detailed questions, and then consider. I think you might
agree, this is one of the best Mustangs on eBay.
You are bidding on “The Blue Light Special”, a VIRTUALLY NEW
1965 Mustang 2+2 GT5.0 (GT350 Clone) Fastback. Yes, a GT 5 POINT
O. (Look at the side view pictures). Just finished (only 217
miles), this is a professionally restored and modified, top
quality piece, and needs nothing that we are aware of. This is a
turnkey vehicle and is better than new in almost every respect.
You will not find another like it and you can fly in and drive
it home.
A complete Groundup Restoration/Modification that took almost 3
years from start to finish. Virtually everything in and on this
car; Complete Drive Train, Interior and Exterior has been
replaced new, upgraded and/or reconditioned. Nothing has been
overlooked. All of the work was done by professionals. This
Mustang was absolutely perfect for this project and special
attention was paid to the smallest details.
Look at the pics. The bodylines and gaps are great. The doors
line up perfectly and they open and close with a click. Look
inside the hood and the trunk. The fit and finish of all of the
body panels are excellent as well as clean and rust free. The
body was completely stripped and all paint was removed. It was
then sprayed with POR15 for extra rust protection. Then it was
painted with Pure White with Viper Blue Pearl Skunk Stripes, No
scratches, dents or creases. Shelby Scoop Hood w/ Chrome Hood
Pins. Brand New Bumpers, Grill Mounted GT Touring Lamps, Custom
Front Lower Valance inc. New Lights and Turn Signals. Rear
Decklid Spoiler and GT Rear Valance w/ Trumpet Exhaust Exits.
New GT Gas Cap.
All of the glass is Excellent with a New Windshield and the rest
being Ford Factory Tinted Glass. The side vents have been
cleaned, polished and are totally functional. All New
Weather-stripping/Rubber (doors, windows, hood trunk, etc.).
Look inside the hood and the trunk. Beautifully detailed and
looks great. The frame and undercarriage are in very good shape,
with not a hint of surface rust. Nothing more than a little
dust/road dirt. The car has never been in an accident to our
knowledge.
Looks like it is off the showroom floor, absolutely beautiful
condition.
Deluxe Pony Interior is just as nice as the rest of the car.
Flaming River Tilt Steering Column. Pony Bucket Seats, w/ seat
belts. Hump Hugger Center Console. Optional Fold Down Rear Seat
Like New. Like New Carpet. Original Dash is clean and near
perfect. Brand New 5 Window Instrument Cluster w/ Autometer
Gauges. Courtesy Light Group inc. Map Light Rearview Mirror.
Brand New Headliner. Window rollers are New and mechanicals have
been cleaned and reconditioned and they work like new. The door
panels, including arm rests, chrome and handles are in good
shape. Has a Jensen AM/FM Cassette with Power Antenna.
Been saving the best for last. The owner/builder went the extra
mile here. Under the hood, you are looking at a Fuel injected
5.0 HO Cobra engine (no smog issues). Everything you see has
been modified and/or relocated to look exactly as it would if
you opened the hood of a late 80’s model Mustang. Everything has
been updated as well. Long tube headers (WITH the correct oxygen
sensors added) into Flowmaster Dual Exhaust leading to GT
Trumpet Exits. Flaming River Rack and Pinion Steering. All New
Front Suspension (Upper and Lower A Arm, Ball Joints, Stabilizer
Bar, GT Coil Springs, etc). New Painless Wiring throughout AND
New Harness for computer and fuel injection. New Starter,
Alternator, Coil and TCI Electronic Module. Have a look
underneath, more surprise. A T5 World Class 5 Speed
Transmission. Completely Balanced Driveline. Newly built Ford 9
inch Rear-end. Interceptor Radials with American Racing Wheels.
Stops on a dime with New Power Brakes (Front Disc). New KYB
Shocks.
Some pics of the restoration process and many of the receipts
will come with the car. The Certificate of Title is free and
clear of any liens (no flood, reconditioned or salvage
problems).
What it needs: An Alarm System. This car is not perfect, I am
sure it has the most minor of imperfections. Air Conditioning
was not an original option on ’65 GT’s, but this does have an
A/C compressor under the hood. It would need the duct work
added. I would put in a better stereo system and it could use a
good set of tires. Mostly, it is a matter of finishing to taste;
Mechanically and cosmetically this Mustang is in Top Shelf
condition just as she sits.
To Sum it up: Cars like this one don’t come along everyday. A
great opportunity to have a vehicle that you could not duplicate
if you tried. It is every bit of what it seems to be and you get
a lot more than you see here. Many years of professional labor,
thought and time, have been devoted to putting together one of
the best Mustangs out there. That and the obvious attention to
detail and quality speak for itself. The lucky winner of this
car will be getting not only a lifetime of pleasure (and
attention) driving this piece of art, but also an investment
that should only grow in value in the years to come.
